President of University of Limerick, Professor Don Barry, Ellen McCourt, President Bill Clinton and Loretta Brennan Glucksman, Chairman of the American Ireland Fund at the New York launch of the Frank McCourt Chair in Creative Writing at University of Limerick.

On Wedneday, March 9th, a dinner will be held at the Water Club Restaurant, New York, with President Bill Clinton to celebrate the generosity of donors to the McCourt Chair.

The Frank McCourt Chair in Creative Writing with a specialist focus on Memoir is being established by the UL Foundation in partnership with the Ireland Funds organisation.  The McCourt Chair will galvanise existing talent and programmes at UL to yield wide and deep benefits for generations of students, faculty, researchers and the wider community. It will also forge links with the global, Irish diaspora family in ways that will celebrate the experience of those around the globe who have Irish heritage, while enriching our shared culture and honouring a great Irishman.
